Verify Brand

SERIALIZATION

The genesis of Verify Brand™ was the printing of unique identification each week on millions of high-security labels for a major software manufacturer. It is this legacy that gives us a unique perspective, experience and expertise in the design and integration of secure serialization for manufacturer and government operations. As a part of our comprehensive solutions we design, deploy and support the introduction of secure serialization from label or packaging serialization to integration with packaging operations or combinations of the two to distribution facilities.

Item numbering is common for product batch or lot distinction, internal logistics, reordering, point-of-sale transactions, promotions and more. In many cases, these numbering schemes do not dedicate a unique number to each unit of sale or subsequent packaging levels, e.g. case or pallet. Also in many cases the numbering scheme is not terribly secure in structure, e.g. sequential. What is important about serialization or unique identification of products, their components, security documents and other items and the integration of this capability into manufacturers and government operations?

  • Serialization should be viewed as a strategic and a fundamental component of product composition and management because it can provide new, substantive and quantifiable financial benefits across the supply chain.
  • If industry standards, state or government regulations exist or are emerging, e.g. FDA, CFR, GS1, US and other country regulations, etc., the serialization system must be capable of compliance and integrating, or evolving to integrate with these elements. Additionally, as in Life Sciences and increasingly for manufacturers selling to Federal governments, the system must be able to create and export any data necessary to further other initiatives, such as the construction of electronic pedigree documents and the distribution and synchronization of serialization event data to government databases.
  • UID's may be carried on products in any form (human-readable, barcode, RFID), at any level of packaging and using parent-child relationships. VB Enterprise 4.0 UID Procurement supports the use of other forms of unique product identification, e.g. GS1 GTIN numbers or UID's embedded in RFID chips and more. Verify Brand is a GS1 Solution Partner.
